Lucasfilm’s Story Group member Diana Williams has left Lucasfilm to join MWM’s Universe division.  Williams served as a Content Strategist for the story group as well as being a creative development executive for ILMxLAB.

Prior to Lucasfilm, Diana was a founder of Roller Coaster Entertainment. She produced critically acclaimed narrative films including Our Song, and the documentary Industrial Light & Magic: Creating the Impossible.  Diana also developed The Gatecrashers – a multi-media comic book series.

In her new role it has been announced that:

Williams has been named executive vp creative and will oversee all creative aspects of the division, which handles IP acquisition and development for production across all media, from film and TV to immersive gaming and comics, among others. She will work alongside the division’s previously announced executive vp operations, Morgan Kruger.

Most recently, the division partnered with Chicago-based artist Hebru Brantley and his Angry Hero Productions to build a universe around his popular “FLYBOY” character.

“By launching our Universe division, we knew we needed top creative talent who understood how powerful IP can be successfully packaged for many different kinds of platforms,” said Pritzker and Kisker in a statement. “Diana’s deep knowledge and love of working with and building out IP for traditional and emerging platforms will allow our Universe division to expand content in new and exciting ways.”

Added Williams: “I am thrilled to be joining the MWM team as we launch MWM Universe. What attracted me to MWM was their innovative approach to this industry. I’m excited to join this company and work with them to bring the creative visions of unique talents like Hebru Brantley to life.
