He might have been a legend with the lightsaber, a man willing to put it all on the line to give the spark of rebellion a chance after decades of distinguished service to the Jedi, but even Obi-Wan Kenobi couldn’t have imagined that his great-grandson would end up playing for Aberdeen, but that’s what’s happened as Nesta Guinness-Walker reveals his incredible lineage, defending the goal from the opposition just as his great-grandfather Sir Alec defended the galaxy from the dark side.

ABERDEEN new boy Nesta Guinness-Walker has revealed that he’s the great grandson of the man who played Obi-Wan Kenobi in the Star Wars films.

Kenobi, one of the most recognisable characters in the history of film, was played by Sir Alec Guinness in the early films in the iconic George Lucas film franchise, before Scotland‘s Ewan McGregor picked up the mantle.

(T)he left back said: “As a family we won’t shy away from his achievements.

“It is something we embrace and we are very proud of.

“He created a legacy and I use that is a bit of motivation as well to create my own part of history in my family as well.”
