In one of the most quotable corners of the entertainment world, we’ve very much used to memorable quotes and moments arriving our way, so it’s good to see that in the outside world the moments we treasure are equally as well regarded. Here, Screen Rant take a look at the 20 greatest quotes of the 2020’s, including two from the GFFA in the form of The Mandalorian and Andor.

Number 20: “This Is The Way” – The Mandalorian

While it’s a fun space western following a bounty hunter’s intergalactic adventures, at its core, The Mandalorian is a show about creeds: why people take oaths, why they keep them, and when it’s okay to break them. The Mandalorian creed is summed up in one simple four-word phrase that’s since become a popular meme: “This is the way.”

Number 1: “I Burn My Life To Make A Sunrise That I Know I’ll Never See” – Luthen Rael, Andor

The most powerful TV quote of the decade so far is Luthen Rael’s monologue about the rise of the Rebel Alliance in Andor. The original Star Wars trilogy had shown a fully fledged Rebellion taking down the tyrannical Galactic Empire in full force. But Andor went back to show the sacrifices that had to be made to build that Rebellion.

Delivered with the appropriate gravitas by the great Stellan Skarsgård, this monologue encapsulates the cost of fighting fascism. Luthen explains that he’s giving everything he has — his blood, sweat, and tears — to get the Rebellion off the ground, even though he knows he won’t live to reap any of the benefits. It sums up the character beautifully.
