There are certainly some spoilerific elements to this Variety piece, so if you’ve yet to see the film then steer clear, but one of the longest running fan debates – certainly in the past 21 and a bit years – is settled with a blast in Solo: A Star Wars Story.

Click here for that interesting nugget, and then take a moment to reflect on this very welcome news via Lawrence and Jon Kasdan regarding just what George Lucas thought of the film.

“I’m happy to report, not only did George see the movie and like it before, I walked into the premiere with him and he was in a fabulous mood and he really likes this movie,” Lawrence Kasdan says. “So I have to assume that was not some earth-shaking thing for him. Or he’s let it go.”

Adds Jonathan: “Or he feels at peace with it finally.”

To know that the man who created and set up many of the key elements of this story is happy with the finished film is validation indeed.
