Greta news for fans of our live action Princess Leia as Vivien Lyra Blair joins the cast of indie feature MattBeth, a ‘modern-day retelling of Shakespeare’s Macbeth as a road movie on city bikes‘. No word on if or when Vivien will return as Leia in future Star Wars programming, but she would certainly be very welcome if she did.

Vivien Lyra Blair, who plays Princess Leia in Disney’s Obi-Wan Kenobi series and starred in Netflix’s Bird Box, is among cast for the indie feature, which has been shooting in LA, New York, and ten other cities across America.

Murisa Harba and Matt Vlahakis co-direct the film, which is a modern-day retelling of Shakespeare’s Macbeth as a road movie on city bikes.

Starring with Lyra Blair, who is also known for 20th Century Studios’ The Boogeyman, are Michelle Merring (General Hospital), Christophe Zajac-Denek (Twin Peaks), Savannah Schoenecker (Dexter: Original Sin) and Burt Bulos (Fatal Attraction), as well as Vlahakis (My Brother Jack) and Harba (The Shattering).

“It’s been great to work with this wonderful team! I’m so grateful to have my first Shakespeare project be with such creative and talented artists!” said Blair.
