Star Wars video game license holder Electronic Arts is developing an open-world Star Wars game according to a new job listing that appeared on their website.
In a job opening posted on their website, a job opening for Lead Online Engineer was posted with the description “lead a team to deliver Online features for a Star Wars Open World project,” according to flickeringmth.com. The description was taken down and there is now no mention of open world.
EA was the studio behind the last two Star Wars games to grace video game platforms, Battlefront and Battlefront II. Both games were met with wide criticism, the second one especially for its loot crate system that gave an unfair advantage to players who paid extra.
Currently, no specific Star Wars project is on the radar at least until 2020 when a Star Wars game released by Respawn Entertainment is slated for release. No word on Battlefront III has hit either, making Lucasfilm very nervous and rumored to be unhappy with EA.
