It appears that the long-gestating LEGO Star Wars Battles PvP mobile game from EA owned Playdemic has been cancelled after a two-year beta test, announcing to players through in-game messages that it would go no further.

The mobile game’s developers warned players ahead of time that the title was wrapping up on July 1. After the news, players were encouraged to spend whatever currency they had left in their accounts. The mobile app then went offline when those working Lego Star Wars game warned that it would.

Lego Star Wars Battles continued what has been a long-running series of games tied to the Star Wars universe. It stood apart from most of the others in the franchise because it pitted players against one another, rather than an AI opponent. Battles offered real-time multiplayer PvP that featured iconic arenas that were seen throughout the Star Wars cinematic universe.
