It might have been almost half a decade since we had any meaningful update on Star Wars: Eclipse, the High Republic era game from Quantic Games, and while that era may be taking somewhat of a backseat after three phases, an animated show and a sole season of The Acolyte, Quantic Dream founder David Cage made it clear that the game is still in production, with more to share in the future.

It’s been four years since Star Wars: Eclipse became one of the most controversial announcements in gaming. First revealed with a cinematic trailer at The Game Awards in 2021, the project claimed it would offer an ambitious, choice-driven story set in The High Republic era — but the excitement didn’t last long. The developer behind it, Quantic Dream, quickly found itself at the center of backlash over past allegations of workplace toxicity, harassment, and discriminatory behavior.

Cage also confirmed that Star Wars: Eclipse is still very much in production. “Of course, development of Star Wars: Eclipse continues, and we are eager to share more with you in the future,” he said, calling this “the beginning of a new chapter for Quantic Dream.”
