There could be another sea change in the tabletop game market in the UK and Europe as Asmodee could be about to be sold for around $1.7bn. Toyworld Mag take a look at the rumours.

The Guyancourt, France-based company, owned by private equity firm Eurazeo SE, has hired investment bankers to run a sale process, according to anonymous sources who asked not to be identified because the deliberations are confidential.

The company generates about 100m euros in 12-month earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortization, according to one of the sources.

Reuters states that a spokesman for Eurazeo declined to comment, while Asmodee did not immediately respond to requests for comment.
