Great news for UK Indiana Jones fans as the 4th sequel to 1981’s Raiders of the Lost ArkIndiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny – is set to land in UK and Irish cinemas on Wednesday 28th June, 2 days ahead of it’s US release on Friday 30th June. By then we should have a decent idea of wehat to expect, with the film receiving its world premiere on Thursday 18th May out of competition at the Cannes Film Festival.

The news comes after it was revealed that the new movie will be the longest entry in the action franchise, running at roughly two hours and 22 minutes.

“I will say the early movies were shorter, they were under 2 [hours] 15 [minutes], and we talked about that quite a bit,” Lucasfilm president Kathleen Kennedy recently told Collider. “So, now I see why maybe they’re interested in this.

“But as you know with runtime it’s all about how you feel, right? So if you’re sitting in a movie and it feels long, you’re like, ‘Uh…’ We’re not dealing with a long movie.”

The movie will see the return of Harrison Ford as Indy, with Phoebe Waller-Bridge joining the franchise as his goddaughter Helena Shaw.
