John Boyega, star of The Force Awakens and The Last Jedi, has recently announced his admiration and pride for his co-star from 2011’s cult sci-fi flick Attack the Block, Jodie Whittaker.

Jodie is currently starring on BBC TV as the thirteenth Dr Who, breaking new ground as she becomes the first female to take the lead role and to breath new life into the franchise.

“I’m so proud of her when I hear that she is the first female Doctor Who. That’s what I’m talking about! It’s brilliant to see a character – that can change and morph into and gain new life in search of time and history – is being revamped again.”

Dr Who is currently airing on BBC on Sundays at 6.25pm and will send wrap up season 11 of the modern era.  John Boyega is currently working on Star Wars Episode IX.
