Blocks magazine is back for issue 118 and brings with it the latest LEGO news, landing in UK stores and on doormats 1st August and arriving with a special double-sided poster of Jedi Bob on one side and Darth Jar Jar on the other from the forthcoming LEGO Star Wars: Rebuild the Galaxy.

Blocks magazine Issue 118 spotlights the epic new LEGO Transformers Bumblebee set on the cover – and inside you’ll find the Blocks verdict on the build. This month’s 116 pages also include an interview with the team responsible for bringing Space back across themes, a look at why LEGO bricks are the size they are and exclusive instructions to build a mini Great Deku Tree from The Legend of Zelda.

Issue 118 is available worldwide as part of a subscription or a single issue at blocksmag.com now and will be in UK stores from August 1. If you take out a 12 or 24 month print subscription this weekend, you’ll get a free bonus magazine – 100 Incredible LEGO Builds.

We’re giving away 10338 Bumblebee! To be in with a chance of winning, take out a subscription before September 4, 2024. You’ll be entered into a new draw every month for the duration of your subscription!

To celebrate the return of Jedi Bob and official arrival of Darth Jar Jar, Blocks is launching a limited edition, A1 double-sided poster featuring stunning photography of the two minifigures, also available now at blocksmag.com.

Space is back! City, Friends, Technic and other themes have travelled through the stars this year, with a consistent colour scheme and design language across the models. It took a new way of thinking to make it happen though – and the designers behind the project explain how they worked across themes in an exclusive interview.

Without the building blocks that the entire LEGO System is based on though, none of this would work. Why are LEGO bricks the size they are? The Secret Life of LEGO Bricks author Daniel Konstanski delves into the specific measurements that underpin clever techniques like SNOT.

The Blocks team visits McLaren’s headquarters for the unveiling of the new Technic supercar, 42172 McLaren P1. See beautiful photography from the special occasion and read about how the two brands engineered this collaboration.

Reviews is packed with intriguing sets this month, including 21350 JAWS, Animal Crossing, City’s Exo-Force redux and roller coaster combo 60421 Robot World, 31212 The Milky Way Galaxy and much more.

Jedi Bob is back! Learn about the classic Jedi minifigure and how he originated so that you’re ready for what promises to be an epic comeback in LEGO Star Wars: Rebuild the Galaxy. This month Blocks is also covering 8062 Briefcase Set from LEGO Technic and a modern recreation of 121 Roadster from Fabuland.

There’s plenty more besides in this month’s magazine, including instructions to build a mini The Legend of Zelda Great Deku Tree model, the top 10 reimagined retro minifigures, amazing instrument MOCs and much, much more.
