Last week we brought you the news that Matt Smith will be in The Rise of Skywalker – two days ahead of most other sites we might add – and that information came via four official Disney websites that appeared to have posted the information in error. Now we hear that something similar may have occurred in the publishing world as news of a standalone Kylo Ren book has been published on the Australian Penguin Random House website.

Initially spotted by @thiscaringlark (via sleemo) could this mean we have a Kylo book filling in missing gaps heading our way?

CONFIDENTIAL AND UNANNOUNCED A stand-alone Star Wars title delving into the character of one of the biggest names in the Star Wars universe: Kylo Ren.

THIS IS UNCONFIRMED AND STILL SUBJECT TO CHANGE

Kylo Ren is a relatively new character in the Star Wars universe, first making his appearance in The Force Awakens and played by Adam Driver. With a complicated origin story, this book hopes to look deeper into Kylo Ren’s past and reveal more of the mystery’s behind the mask.

Now, read that again. It mentions Kylo being a ‘new character’, first appearing in The Force Awakens, a film that came out 4 years ago. Perhaps this is new information, but equally it could be something archival that never panned out. Either way, we will all have to keep an eye on this developing story.
