Wednesday 12th February 2020 may not instantly stand out as a day long remembered (WhatsApp hitting two billion users stands out as the most notable news of the day), but with the intervening years bringing us three phases of The High Republic, numerous comics, books, a kids animated series and now a live action series, perhaps that day should be celebrated more often. That’s because on the 9th page of The Rise of Kylo Ren #3, artist Will Sliney drew the very first appearance of anything from The High Republic era.

That holocron figure is Avar Kriss, later to grace the cover of Light of the Jedi on 5th January 2021, also written by Rise of Kylo Ren writer Charles Soule.
