There’s something very exciting about the high-end, mega-sized, coffee-table breaking Star Wars releases, giving us a new spin on the making and design of the original trilogy. Later this year we’ll be diving deep into another huge release as Taschen release The Star Wars Archives: Episodes IV–VI 1977–1983 which takes a detailed look at the trilogy all other trilogies aspire to be.

Star Wars exploded onto our cinema screens in 1977, and the world has not been the same since. Made in close collaboration with George Lucas and Lucasfilm, this XXL-sized tome gathers script pages, production documents, concept art, storyboards, on-set photography, stills, and posters to present a definitive exploration of the original trilogyEpisode IV: A New HopeEpisode V: The Empire Strikes Back, and Episode VI: Return of the Jedi.

It’s certainly not cheap at £150.00, but any illuminating dive into the original trilogy is worth the price.
