Speaking with Digital Spy, actress Kelly Marie Tran briefly mentioned her character of Rose Tico, hinting at the step forward in years that The Rise of Skywalker is expected to present and explaining that Rose has stepped up in the final Skywalker Saga adventure.
Here’s what Kelly Marie had to say.
“Before, Rose was a new character who was in maintenance and she was not a huge part of the resistance. But now she’s in the Resistance in a big way and it’s very cool.”
Presumably, after her exploits in the Battle of Crait her value has been determined hence the promotion, and with so few members of the Resistance at the time of Crait her importance would have escalated. Not long until we find out just how important she will be to the events of The Rise of Skywalker.
