Eagle-eyed readers might remember our article earlier this year reporting the new Kick Starter project for an illustrated history of Palitoy book. Palitoy, the famous British toy company, and Kenner contemporary, was responsible for the manufacturing and distribution of Star Wars toys, in addition to producing their own creations including Action Man (Toy of the Decade in 1980), Action Force and many more.

Researched and written by (Palitoy’s chief designer) Bob Brechin, and designed by (international award winning graphic designer and Total Action Force co-creator) Brian Hickey.

This book, courtesy of Bob’s first-hand accounts and ‘behind the scenes’ perspective, rewards readers with an illustrated history and comprehensive insight into one of the most iconic toy manufacturers of the 20th Century, documenting Palitoy’s inception, rise to prominence and eventual dissolution.

An essential collector book for pals-of-toys, with a variety of options, including signed copies of the book, your name printed in the book and exclusive artwork.

Don’t miss the opportunity to get your gripping hands on this unique Kickstarter project, or perhaps, in the spirit of Star Wars early bird certificates, Fathers Day gift. Project backing ends Sun, June 18 2023 at 9:00 PM BST.

If you enjoy toy nostalgia, you may also want to check out some wonderful vintage Palitoy commercials. The content owner has lovingly restored the original film print, digitally enhanced and in partnership with Analog Toys can be viewed on the Palitoy TV Advert Vault.
