The Phantom Menace: Watch Drew Struzan create the iconic poster

When Episode 1 was announced, Drew Struzan had already ventured into the realms of the galaxy far, far away with the legendary Circus Poster for A New Hope and numerous book covers throughout the 90’s. After his work on the trilogy of Special Edition posters had whetted fans appetites for more work, the news that he would paint – and we mean paint, no computer assisted work here – the posters for the Prequel trilogy caused genuine excitement, and the artwork we got adorned covers of the novelisation, the soundtrack and fans walls around the globe.

Here, we can see the master at work, bringing together concept and execution to create one of the most memorable of all Star Wars posters.
