If you happen to be in Portugal these days and you are a vintage Star Wars fan, or just a Star Wars fan, be sure to visit The Power of the Force Exhibition in its last days at Museu do Caramulo.

The museum is located at Caramulo, a town in Central Portugal not far from Porto and Coimbra, and it is home to one of the most beautiful collections of cars you´ll find, an area in which the museum has concentrated for many decades. Furthermore, it also frequently holds art exhibits of different kinds, and since 2017 it has been housing the stunning Star Wars vintage collection of Portuguese collector Salvador Patricio Gouveia, who is also a Member of the Board at the Museum.

Salvador is well-known and respected in the vintage Star Wars collecting community and has amassed quite an impressive collection of items throughout the years.

The Power of the Force Exhibition comprises hundreds of items covering all the original figures of the iconic Kenner line, as well as ships, playsets, creatures, packaging, etc. It also includes merchandising, cards and other memorabilia used in the pre-production process of the toys themselves.

The icing on the cake of the collection is the international items area that includes many rare toys produced in other countries where Kenner outsourced production and distribution through licensing: Japan, Spain, France, Italy, Great Britain, Argentina or Brazil, just to name a few. As well as a selection of bootlegs: unlicensed counterfeit versions of the figures and their unique variations made in countries such as Mexico, Poland and Hungary, among others.

A visually appealing display of vintage original Star Wars film posters from all around the world complements this great experience.

You will feel transported to that galaxy of our dreams, and to your childhood years. Quite a treat for vintage and retro lovers, and fans of the saga and its toys.
