Product Review: Ruggable

Star Wars home deco has been around for a while, and some collections are better than others. A couple of years ago, Facebook presented me with an advert for Ruggable who design and manufacturer rugs in the US. Amongst their design portfolio is a range of Star Wars rugs, but with a difference. Most of the designs were not noticeably Star Wars related to the untrained eye, unless you look closely.

They also had quite a unique feature of coming in two parts, the rug and the rug pad. Both joined together with a kind of Velcro, meaning the rug itself is machine washable.

Ruggable make their rugs to order so all you have to do is pick the design, colour, size and thickness of the base. Sounds easy enough, but this gives you multiple options to choose from.

The rugs aren’t cheap so after a good look at the designs I added it to my ‘when I win the lottery’ list along with my dedicated Star Wars room. Fast forward a couple of months and my wife and I unexpectedly came into some money and to my surprise she suggested getting a Ruggable rug! Of course, being a big fan of Grogu she chose a rug based on him. So, it was ordered, delivered, laid and has been a focal point in our living room ever since.

I skipped over this rug because not long ago we decided to have laminate flooring laid which meant we would need a new runner for the hall. We chose the Rebellion Rug, 75X215 with standard pad at a cost of £169. However, it is always worth being patient because Ruggable often have sales, so we were able to get 20% off bringing it down to £135.20. Delivery is free (yes, free from the US) and there are interest free finance options available through PayPal and Klarna. They say delivery can take up to 3 weeks as they are made to order, but ours arrived in around 10 days.

Inside the box, both rugs are rolled up with the pad inside the other. Putting the together can be a bit tricky. You lay the pad on the floor and with the rug rolled up you line it up with the end of the pad and roll the rug over the pad. It’s a little difficult to explain, but Ruggable provide good instructions and videos on how to do it. It can take a few goes to get it right,  as I show in the video below.

These rugs are made to last, and the prices reflect the quality. The rugs are machine washable on a cold cycle and when we washed our Grogu rug for the first time it came out as good as new. To top it off they look fantastic on the floor and are definitely worth the purchase for any Star Wars fan.

Purchases made from now until the 4th of October get 15% off with the code WIESN23 or after you can get 15% off your first purchase. If you change your mind, you can return it within 30 days for a full refund.
