“Skeleton Crew” follows the journey of four kids who make a mysterious discovery on their seemingly safe home planet, then get lost in a strange and dangerous galaxy, crossing paths with the likes of Jod Na Nawood, the mysterious character played by Law. Finding their way home—and meeting unlikely allies and enemies—will be a greater adventure than they ever imagined.

On Sunday 1st December I was lucky enough to travel down to the BFI Southbank in London with Mark Newbold for the UK Special Screening of the first two episodes of Skeleton Crew. It was an early start on a dark winter’s morning but it was absolutely worth it.

I’ve seen Star Wars back on the big screen a lot this year with the 25th Anniversary release of The Phantom Menace in May and then UK cinemas held a Star Wars season from August. Nothing could prepare me for seeing new Star Wars right where it belonged…back on the big screen.

It was great to see the red (in this case blue) carpet back once more and photos were being taken galore from every angle as the place had been decked out with posters, banners and even a few props and set-ups from the show.

As the auditorium filled up and the lights went down there was a buzz in the air with what we were about to witness. The show looked fantastic on the big screen and made me really excited for Star Wars to return to the screen in May 2026.

The audience was filled with fans from across the board with all eras and interests represented, and when the credits rolled the theatre filled with applause. I was once again filled with excitement about the future of Star Wars….

Jonathan wasn't born until 1991 so missed out on all the fun but in 1995 when a family member gave him three old VHS tapes from a galaxy far, far away his life was transformed forever. In 1999, aged 8, he fell in love all over again with the Prequels and the rest, as they say, is history. By day (and night) Jonathan is an author/ writer and stand-up comedian and now spends most of his time thinking about how he can work more Star Wars jokes into his show. Jonathan is also the curator of 'The Jedi Palladium'.
