BEWARE SPOILERS: Just like with the previous Disney Plus series, Fantha Tracks will be offering our own episode guide for your entertainment! Here we will post every reference, Easter egg, everything named and unnamed per episode and some fun trivia in-between that we have spotted.
Episode 1: Kassa
Official summary: Cassian Andor’s reckless search for answers about his past makes him a wanted man.
Trivia
Once again, the flashing opening helmets have been changed to reflect the series it is attached to. This time it is B2EMO that appears in the final slot.
Just like with Rogue One, we are told on which planet we are by way of an on-screen title. Something that has not been done outside that movie and this series. The same font is used and newly added to the location is a timestamp telling that we are in BBY 5.
Fitting with the more adult theme, we start at an ‘Entertainment District’ and enter with Cassian into a brothel. Now brothels are not a new concept, but this is the first time we actually see one in live-action.
While many new people are named within the episode, or thanks to the end credits, there are a couple unknowns at the brothel. The doorman (played by Tim Faraday), the alien bartender lady (Caroline Green) and the hostess (Margaret Clunie) that gives Andor his information are not named. The alien species of the bartender also has yet to be identified.
Talking about unidentified species, the species of the holographic gogo dancer is also unknown, but we saw that species before in The Last Jedi and with Silvasu Fi in Solo.
Caroline Green appeared before in Star Wars as Centada Ressad in The Last Jedi.
The guards that Andor runs in and has to kill are named in dialogue as Verlo and Kravas, but their full names are seen in the Aurebesh writing of Syril Karn’s report. Those names are Kravas Drezzer and Verlo Skiff.
On Ferrix B2EMO runs into some problems with a Corellian Hound, who does whatever dogs do when they see a fire hydrant…
B2EMO shares some design elements with the robots of Black Hole, namely the red paint scheme and eyes featured inside a base.
The walk-through junk with a catchy bit of music is reminiscent of the opening scene of Wall-E.
A flashback shows us that Cassian’s actual name is Kassa, which is a bit of an unfortunate name for your article writer as he is from the Netherlands and ‘kassa’ means ‘cash register’ in Dutch.
Kassa lives on Kenari with his sister, and an interesting aspect is that we only see them speaking their own native language there. The last time we had whole segments without an English word and no subtitles in Star Wars was in The Holiday Special on Kashyyyk.
On the streets of Ferrix a nice mix of humans and aliens can be spotted like an Abednedo with yellow mechanical arms like Roodown (The Force Awakens), an Ongidae and a Kakala, but also a luggabeast and a L-1g general purpose droid.
Timm mentions a Wobani run coming, Wobani is the prison planet where Cassian freed Jyn in Rogue One.
The ship Cassian used to get to Morlan One is unknown, however it could very well be that the security guard was right with the ship being a Dayvan. That ship type is new, just like the ship that Cassian flew. It cannot be the Orlean Star Cab, as that is a WEG creation that appeared in Galaxy Guide 8 as a scout ship.
Vetch is an Urodel male, which is a species first seen in The Force Awakens with the character Bollie Prindel. Both Prindel and Vetch were portrayed by Ian Whyte, who also played Moroff in Rogue One.
Ships seen in the landing site on Ferrix are a Y-Wing with next to it a WTK-85A interstellar transport (Ochi’s ship in Episode IX was one of the same type). Directly across the WTK-85A is a Lancer-class pursuit craft which was originally developed for Ventress in The Clone Wars episodes that got cut and became the novel Dark Disciple. This 3D ship model was repurposed and used in Rebels instead.
