Perfectly timed with the imminent availability of the new Regal Robot Belloq ceremonial staff, here’s a look at the original which sits in the Propstore permanent collection. Adam Savage was the lucky chap to get up close with this and one of the ghosts from the opening of the Ark, and we can watch that moment here.
Adam gets his hands on two iconic pieces of prop history from one of his all-time favorite movies: Raiders of the Lost Ark! The first is Belloq’s Ceremonial Staff, the stunning prop used in the climatic scene of the film to open the Ark of the Covenant. And related to that is a special effects puppet of one of the ghostly angels of death that emerge from the Ark, now in the Propstore permanent collection.
