Visitors to Celebration Japan will have seen Skywalker Sounds David Collins presenting the Lucasfilm Animation Panel, where not only was he joined by Dave Filoni and the vice president of animation production for Lucasfilm Athena Yvette Portillo, but after a screening of the debut episode of Tales of the Underworld, surprise guest Sam Witwer hit the stage to reveal Star Wars: Maul – Shadow Lord, premiering on Disney Plus in 2026. An exciting weekend, and one that only got better for Dave as his return home to find this waiting for him; his very own Saturn Award from the 52nd Awards for The Bad Batch, a treat on Lucasfilm Animations 20th anniversary.
