As we head towards summer holiday season, the days can seem quite sleepy – especially when it comes to news, announcements and anything new related to Star Wars. With that in mind, let’s take a look at what we can expect towards the final third of the year.
September 2025
Starfury: Invasion is once again taking place in Birmingham over the weekend of the 19th – 21st of September and Fantha Tracks will be there to once again cover the action. The recent headline announcement that Cassian Andor himself, Diego Luna, will be attending sent seismic waves through the community, but there’s also a plethora of guests from across the Disney Plus era of shows including Kyle Soller, Denise Gough, Elizabeth Dulau and Ivanna Sakhno.
October 2025
The biggest collecting event in Europe once again returns to Redditch as Echo Base Live comes alive at the Kingfisher Shopping Centre on Saturday October 11th. Early Bird tickets are available now and it’s always a monster day of fun spending our hard earned pennies, catching up with friends, guest signings and raising money for good causes.
Star Wars: Visions – Volume III arrives on Disney+ with nine episodes being released on October 29th. This was a big deal at Celebration Japan this past April and all the shorts are being produced by Japanese Studios. There’s a long gap between Star Wars projects so this will quench the thirst, so the speak, until the next show arrives in 2026 – which will presumably be Maul: Shadow Lord early next year.
November
The Star Wars Smugglers Weekend returns on the 8th and 9th of November in Weybridge. If you follow their Facebook page you can keep up to date with all their announcements and its looking like it’ll be corker. I’m desperate to try and make it work to head down this year as these events have always been a blast and very well run.
On November 11th a new novel arrives in bookstores by Adam Christopher. He penned the brilliant Luke and Lando adventure Shadow of the Sith and this new novel, Master Of Evil, picks up pretty soon after the events of Episode III and follows Darth Vader in the aftermath of a dark ritual on Mustafar.
December 2025
Though not announced yet, two weekends before Christmas is usually the Farthest From Retro Toy Show Weekend taking place in Fordingbridge. If the event is happening this year, then it’s always a brilliant festive occasion with guest talks, auctions, room sales, Q&A’s and my favourite – the Christmas dinner. Keep an eye out for a date soon. The team ran the brilliant AndMore event in June also.
Avatar: Fire and Ash releases worldwide on December 19th and if the first two were anything to go by then it’ll likely be another box office phenomenon. Why am I telling you this about the James Cameron epic? Well, hear me out. Avatar is produced by 20th Century Studios who are now owned by Disney. Disney have a film coming out next May called The Mandalorian and Grogu and I strongly suspect that the first teaser trailer for the next Star Wars film might be attached to Avatar. The window for trailers has gotten shorter and shorter. The reason for this, there’s so much content and people’s attention span’s have generally dwindled; if a trailer is released too early then the hype can die down. A teaser released at the end of the year and then a full trailer in the spring follows recent Disney models. To prove the point, Avatar releases this Christmas and as of writing in mid-July, we don’t have a trailer of any kind for this film.
Oct – Dec 2025
Finally, due anytime towards the end of the year is the arrival of last year’s Haslab – The Cantina. The Ghost, which was funded in July of 2023, arrived on doorsteps just before Father Christmas did the rounds last December, so it’s anyone’s guess as to when it’ll show up.
