She was one of the highlights of both seasons of Andor as Bix, the toughest of cookies who never gave in, even against incredible odds, and now Adria ArjonaAdria Arjona joins thriller Scorn is set to join another great franchise in the DCU as Maxima, an alien queen who becomes somewhat of a love interest for Superman – and quite possibly a foe – in 2027’s Superman: The Man of Tomorrow, directed by James Gunn. Nothing is set in stone yet, but as The Hollywood Reporter explain, there’s a good chance we’ll be seeing her on the big screen in this major motion picture.

After several rounds of screen tests, Adria Arjona has been chosen for the mystery role in DC Studios’ sequel to Superman. It was previously reported that the character was comic antiheroine Maxima, but it’s unknown if that is correct.

If Arjona is indeed Maxima, it portends a more cosmic nature for this DC outing. Writer Roger Stern and artist George Pérez introduced Maxima in the pages of Action Comics No. 645 in 1989. She is an alien queen who has been both an antagonist and potential love interest for Superman.

Arjona last year appeared in the acclaimed second season of Star Wars series Andor and starred with Dakota Johnson in the comedy Splitsville. She has several high-profile movies in postproduction, including Amazon MGM’s remake of The Thomas Crown Affair, directed by Michael B. Jordan, and Onslaught, the latest thriller from Adam Wingard.
