Solo: A Star Wars Story not eligible for Oscar contention

In frustrating news – and if true, someone truly dropped a Zollux here – it appears that the sweeping score for May’s Solo: A Star Wars Story by John Powell, with contributions by John Williams, is ineligible for the Oscar race as Best Score because someone forgot to enter it by the Academy deadline of November 15th.

Variety take a look at this ineptitude and the chance to take Oscar home on Monday 25th February 2019. Thankfully, the GFFA is a winner with Kathleen Kennedy having already been honoured by the Academy with the Irving G. Thalberg Memorial Award.
