We might be just days away from Rian Johnson’s Star Wars directing debut in The Last Jedi, and many were anticipating a swift return for the ninth saga episode (which we now know was never going to happen, due to Rian’s forthcoming trilogy). Given all that, it appears that Daisy Ridley cried when J.J. Abrams returned, and we’re assuming it was with joy, as she explains to the Rolling Stone.

“Everyone was saying it was going to be Rian and everything, so I was genuinely quite surprised, and was like ‘Oh my God!’ and I started crying immediately with three people in the office. And they were like, ‘What the ****  just happened?’ So I emailed J.J. saying, ‘Oh my God I am crying.’ And he goes, ‘Oh my God, me too.’ And then we had a conversation a few days later and we stay in touch. But we stayed in touch the whole time anyway.”

Looks like Episode 9 is going to be quite the reunion.
