The Las Vegas Cause-Players Alliance has announced a Star Wars Life Day charity event. The event is conceived as a large-scale fundraiser and, at the same time, a celebration for everyone who cares about the Star Wars universe. The organizers openly invite the local community to join an evening that promises to be a lively blend of pop culture and philanthropy.
Grey Witch welcomes guests
The chosen venue is Grey Witch, located at 722 W. Sunset Rd., Las Vegas. The intimate space will likely give the evening a warmer, more club-like atmosphere, which perfectly matches the spirit of the Life Day holiday, which in the Star Wars universe has always been associated with a sense of closeness and family warmth.
Where Life Day came from
The format of the evening is inspired by the famous (or, for some, infamous) 1978 Star Wars Holiday Special, which aired on CBS. That TV special introduced viewers to the Life Day holiday, celebrated on Chewbacca’s home planet. Despite the original’s mixed reputation, over time Life Day has become a cult element of the fandom, and it is this tradition that formed the basis of the evening’s theme in Las Vegas.
Tickets are already on sale
Tickets are on sale and available via the Las Vegas Cause-Players Alliance Facebook page. Each purchased ticket automatically includes one raffle ticket—that is, a ticket to enter the prize drawing.
For those who want to increase their chances in the raffle, a straightforward setup is provided. Additional raffle tickets can be purchased for a $5 donation each. Thus, entry into the drawing is included in the price of admission by default, but each guest is free to improve their odds by making an additional donation.
How could Las Vegas’s reputation translate into extra Life Day attendees?
Event organizers say that their show will fully match the spirit of Las Vegas, which for many people is the embodiment of excitement and risk. Most guests of the evening are surely familiar firsthand not only with the Star Wars universe, but also with the casino atmosphere.
Of course, it is hard to deny that today more and more people gamble at online casinos. Gaming platforms offer them the ability to start playing quickly, a wide selection of games, and free cash bonuses with no deposit required. This has proven especially popular with Canadians; however, that does not prevent them from remaining the largest group of international visitors to Las Vegas. And some of these tourists surely combine a love of gambling with attending similar geek-culture events.
Troy Kriz and Jacqueline Kriz invite the city to celebrate
The event organizers, Troy Kriz and Jacqueline Kriz, are reaching out to Las Vegas residents with an invitation to celebrate Life Day together. According to them, the evening will be not only entertainment, but also an opportunity to support the important charitable mission behind the alliance’s work.
Where the proceeds will go
All proceeds from ticket sales and donations will go to the Las Vegas Cause-Players Alliance. The organization will continue its mission, which is to support children in the local community. The alliance’s volunteers and activists work to provide young residents of the city not only with practical help, but also with warm memories that can stay with them for many years.
