Following the powerful 7.1-magnitude earthquake that struck Japan’s Kumamoto Prefecture on July 28, 2026, renowned artist Hidetaka Tenjin addressed the disaster in a social media post highlighting his massive Star Wars wall display.
The expansive artwork, spanning over 20 meters, is featured at AEON Cinema Kumamoto within the heavily impacted shopping complex. It ranks as one of the largest installations among roughly ten AEON Cinema locations showcasing his work across Japan and Tenjin notes that “I had always hoped to go see it in person someday.”
Expressing solidarity with those impacted, he added, “I pray for the safety of everyone affected by the disaster. May the Force be with you. I hope to do whatever I can to help.”
