When it comes to Star Wars, the question of what order you should watch the episodes in will forever remain one of the things that divide fans. There are lots of episodes at this point, counting the additions to the original trilogy, which makes finding the correct order to watch the Star Wars universe harder than ever before. But this article will provide you with some help to find the best option for you.
When you hang out online, whether it’s enjoying reddit, looking for a new online casino or reading up on Star Wars, there’s a lot of information out there. And whether you are following a fan discussion, want to find a new casino that has games you can play in between watching episodes or are looking for a new cookie recipe to add to your movie night, you need to know where to look, and we want to be the place to go for anything Star Wars.
Watch the episodes in this order
- The true order: I, II, III, IV, V, VI, VII, VIII, IX. This is the order George Lucas would tell you to watch it, as he says that this is the original order he intended. This follows Anakin’s story – the boy who became Darth Vader. It’s also an easier introduction for younger viewers.
- The production order: IV, V, VI, I, II, III, VII, VIII, IX. This is the order that the films are produced and is how the very first generation of Star Wars fans got to experience the story unfold. This is therefore a very dear choice to many hardcore fans who have been there since the very beginning in 1977. The issue is, however, that the movies have been edited so much since they first aired in cinemas, that the original movies can hardly be seen in this light anymore, which kind of ruins the argument of it being the true and authentic way to see these movies.
- Adding to this view, we will have to add the time machine order: ‘IV, ‘V, ‘VI, I, II, III, (IV, V, VI,) VII, VIII, IX, where you will watch the original cinema cuts of all the films.
- There are also a couple of other orders we won’t go into detail about here, but know that they do exist. This is The Machete Order and Ernst Rister Order.
