At the heart of The Last Jedi was the developing relationship between Rey and Kylo Ren, one that – as we stand right now – is difficult to gauge. Offering more questions than answers, as every middle chapter should, The Last Jedi will see resolution in The Rise of Skywalker and in reference to that core relationship, co-writer Chris Terrio discussed how Rey and Kylo will be resolved.

“Some of the most interesting scenes in The Last Jedi are the conversations between Rey and Ren. We’ve tried to pick up that complicated relationship that really has been present ever since the interrogation in Episode VII. When Ren takes off his mask, there’s a nakedness about him with Rey that he doesn’t express to anyone else. Rian developed that in fascinating ways and we’ve been able to develop it even further.”

The issue also gave us a first look at this fascinating image of Kylo Ren on board what looks like a Star Destroyer docking bay. We can only imagine what’s happening – explosive decompression of the docking bay, an angry sith lord letting loose – who knows, but whatever the answer to the mystery we will find out in just 80 days.
