He’s a quality actor, a boon to any cast and someone who would be very welcome in the GFFA, which is exactly what’s happening next spring in The Mandalorian & Grogu when Golden Globe, Screen Actors Guild and Emmy Award winning actor Jeremy Allen White joins the cast of the film as the voice of Rotta the Hutt. About to star as Bruce Springsteen in Deliver Me from Nowhere he spoke with Good Morning America about his work in the Star Wars galaxy.
“It was exciting, you know, it’s funny. I met Jon Favreau, who directed the film and the series prior, and I’ve been such a huge fan Jon’s for a very long time, and so we talked about movies and I asked about Swingers. And he said, ‘Would you like to come in, and maybe talk about doing a voice-over for Star Wars?’ ‘I love Star Wars, I’d be so happy to!’ – and then, in the moment almost, I discovered the weight of the character I was voicing.
But it’s been a fun process, I came in to do the voice – they hadn’t filmed the movie yet – they made the movie, I came and did more. I’ll probably have to do a little bit more. I spoke to Pedro the other day, and I think he was doing some more work, and seeing more of the film. I’m very excited to take my kids to see that one. I think it’s gonna be really fun.”
