Hollywood legend and everyone’s favourite enigmatic maverick Jedi Liam Neeson has been doing the rounds recently promoting his latest film ‘Marlowe’. On Saturday, he stopped by The Jonathan Ross Show to discuss everything from celebrating his career milestone of his 100th film with ‘Marlowe’, to keeping in incredible shape at 70 (power walking if you’re after the secret) and of course no interview is ever complete with a question about a far away galaxy.

After a somewhat banal question asked by one of the other guests about if the Jedi robes were rough to wear or covered in silk on the inside, Liam then displayed his usual intellect by veering off onto some well known Star Wars lore.

He explained how after a few run-through runs of the infamous Midi-chlorian speech he delivers to Anakin, Liam went to one side and asked George; ‘What the heck am I saying? What is a Midi-chlorian?

To which George replied; ‘You know you have millions of bacteria inside of you? Well, imagine if one of those had intelligence.’

And then George walked off. This drew a big laugh from the crowd and Liam joked it was the only direction George gave him.

It’s always wonderful to see Liam talk about his character and time on Star Wars. He comes across as a very philosophical person who loved his time on the series and towards the end of the interview he did mention that Star Wars fans still come up to him in droves.

Liam’s latest film ‘Marlowe’, also his 100th, is now available on Sky Cinema.

Jonathan wasn't born until 1991 so missed out on all the fun but in 1995 when a family member gave him three old VHS tapes from a galaxy far, far away his life was transformed forever. In 1999, aged 8, he fell in love all over again with the Prequels and the rest, as they say, is history. By day (and night) Jonathan is an author/ writer and stand-up comedian and now spends most of his time thinking about how he can work more Star Wars jokes into his show. Jonathan is also the curator of 'The Jedi Palladium'.
