Now before the negativity starts to flow, remember that prior to his return in Star Wars: The Clone Wars Darth Maul was chopped in half, and the Emperor was taking the fast route down a shaft on the Death Star and it seems he is back in The Rise of Skywalker, so the thought of Mace Windu coming back into the Star Wars story isn’t the most outlandish idea ever. Samuel L. Jackson was a guest on The Late Show With Stephen Colbert and made clear his thoughts.

“Jedi can fall from incredible heights and not die, like cats.” You’ve got to give Jackson a hand, he’s persistent.
