Samuel L. Jackson on Mace Windu: “Just cause they cut my arm off and I fell out a window, doesn’t mean I’m dead”

It’s a rite of passage in the Star Wars galaxy for characters to have limbs lobbed off – in the case of the Jedi you could consider it part of the Jedi trials. Few Jedi had a trial quite like Mace Windu, who first faced down the Emperor, then his traitourous padawan Anakin Skywalker before being hurled out of a miles-high window on a bolt of Sith lightning. Despite all of that, Samuel L. Jackson is still convinced the Jedi Master survived, and he made that very clear when he appeared on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon this week.

“There’s a history alone, history of one-armed, one-handed people in the Star Wars Universe. So, just cause they cut my arm off and I fell out a window, doesn’t mean I’m dead. I’m a Jedi! The second-most powerful Jedi in the universe next to Yoda. So, I can float. Yeah, he’s out there.”

Until they show us the body, there’s always a chance. Remember, there’s a whole other half of Darth Maul running around the galaxy somewhere, so anything can happen.
