Star Wars Smuggler’s Bounty Transitioning From Subscription To Retail Exclusive

Funko sent the above email to Star Wars Smuggler’s Bounty Bi-Monthly and Annual Subscribers announcing the transition of the boxes from a subscription to a retail exclusive after September 2018.

The Smuggler’s Bounty blog gives the following explanation for the change in direction…

In effort to allow Funko to focus on what they do best – creating unique, quality collectibles, Funko will be discontinuing the subscription offering for the Star Wars Smuggler’s Bounty box on September 15, 2018.  Prior to that date, Funko will continue to offer Smuggler’s Bounty boxes on a bi-monthly basis to account holders, but the process is changing.

Have no fear! The boxes aren’t disappearing completely. After the discontinuation date of the subscription offering, Funko will be transitioning the Smuggler’s Bounty collectibles box to retail. Funko will be partnering with an exclusive retailer to deliver the Smuggler’s Bounty box as a retail offering. Stay tuned for upcoming details.

If you are current annual subscriber, like I am, here are some of the details that you need to be aware of:

As of February 16, 2018, all annual subscription accounts will have auto renew turned off.

Upon the annual renewal date, the account status will move from ‘active subscriber’ to ‘account holder.’

Until the annual renewal date or September 2018, whichever comes first, current annual subscribers will receive subscription boxes.

After September 2018, refunds will be provided for ‘subscription boxes that are not fulfilled.’

Those that qualify for the ‘Annual Gift’ will still receive it before the end of 2018.

Those that have bi-monthly subscriptions, here is what you need to be aware of:

As of February 16, 2018, all bi-monthly subscription accounts will have auto renew turned off.

Account status will move from ‘active subscriber’ to ‘account holder.’

Until September 2018, account holders can purchase each future Smuggler’s Bounty box, but quantities are limited.

To get the Ewok Box, former bi-monthly subscribers will need to login and purchase it.
