Echo Base LIVE XIII: Guests are coming to Redditch

With Echo Live XIII a matter of weeks away, and the announcement of the 7th guest joining the ‘Jabba’s Palace’ themed event (and Star Guest Dinner the night before) here’s a quick round up of the guests announced so far….

And that announcement of a 7th guest….

We are pleased to announce that our seventh guest at Echo Base LIVE on 7th October is…

Paul Brooke – Rancor Keeper

Paul played Malakili the Rancor Keeper in the 1983 Star Wars film Return of the Jedi.

He began as a stage actor and has played in many London productions, including several years as a member of Frank Dunlop’s original Young Vic Company. Paul played British Conservative politician Ian Gow in the 2004 BBC series The Alan Clark Diaries. In 2006, he guest starred in the Doctor Who audio adventure Year of the Pig as well as the 1990 Mr. Bean sketch “The Library”. He also played Mr. Fitzherbert in the 2001 film Bridget Jones’s Diary. Other appearances in television dramas and comedies featuring Brooke include Bertie and Elizabeth, the BBC adaptation of Blott on the Landscape, Lovejoy, Foyle’s War, Rab C. Nesbitt, Kavanagh QC, Sharpe’s Revenge, Midsomer Murders, Hustle, Covington Cross, The Kit Curran Radio Show, Between the Lines, Relic Hunter and Mornin’ Sarge. Notably, he also played Grima Wormtongue in the 1981 BBC radio adaptation of The Lord of the Rings.

Paul will be joining us all day, signing autographs and answering your questions.

Paul joins Paul Weston (Nikto stuntman), Femi Taylor (Oola), Simon Williamson (Max Rebo), Sean Crawford (Yak Face) and Jabba puppeteers Dave Barclay and Toby Philpott at the events which promise to be a glorious celebration of the 40th Anniversary of Return of The Jedi, and with 9 guests expected there are still a couple more to be announced to complete the line up.

Born in the early 70’s Carl is one of the OT Children of ’77 – ’85. When not focusing 100% on Star Wars, Carl can be found hitting drum-shaped things for several bands in the Midlands area including Amoeba Teen, Flying Ant Day, Sleuth, Grand Valise and BBC6Music faves The Humdrum Express. Carl features on Fantha Tracks Radio fan music podcast Desert Planet Discs with co-host Level Up Leroy.
