Early this morning saw a slew of announcements regarding Galaxy’s Edge – the food and drink, the rides, the merch, the park even has its own app.
To continue our look at all of this amazing news, let’s take a look at the various foods, beverages and restaurants we can use to refuel on our journey around the 14 acres of Galaxy’s Edge, with images courtesy of Nerdist.
Oga’s Cantina
Black Spire’s leading crime boss is Oga, with a hand in every business across the outpost. She’s not to be trifled with, and speaking of trifle, her cantina – which has dark alcoves for visitors heading to the Outer Rim or in to the interior – offers snacks and primarily drinks, all served from a bar reminiscent of the Mos Eisley cantina.
Ronto Roasters
Podracing might have been banned after the prequel trilogy era, but that doesn’t stop those massive, imposing engines finding other uses. One such engine has made its way to Batuu and into Ronto Roasters, owned by Bakkar and operated by his droid 8D-J8. The engines roasts the Ronto meat, and visitors can sample this classic marketplace delicacy as they move through the outpost.
Milk Stand
Galaxy’s Edge’s Milk Stand run by Bubo Wamba Farms is going to be serving a milky treat at Galaxy’s Edge, allowing us the chance to imbibe the classic blue milk from A New Hope and the green milk from The Last Jedi. The drinks are vegan, with the blue milk having berry notes and the green milk a more tropical flavour.
Kat Saka’s Kettle
It’s a hungry game, travelling the lanes throughout the galaxy and stopping for coaxium and food wherever you can, all the while avoiding Imperial entanglements and competitive colleagues. That’s why Kat Saka’s Kettle and her patented Outpost Mix is the best fuel for galactic travellers everywhere. A sweet and salty popcorn mix, the meal is made of spices collected from across the galaxy (and possibly – but not confirmed – some sugar from the Setnin sector)
Docking Bay 7 Food and Cargo
Docking Bay 7 is the most visible of the eateries in Black Spire Outpost, giving visitors a quick service option to fill up and head back into the village. Its chef is a familiar face, Strono Tuggs, the former chef at Maz Kanata’s castle on Takodana. The ship visible in the image above, that’s Tuggs modified Sienar-Chall Utilipede-Transport which doubles as his travelling kitchen. Black Spire might be a haven for travellers across the cosmos but it’s also a gourmet’s delight.
And there are drinks at Docking Bay 7.
And then there’s the kids menu:
And of course, desserts:
Io9 also give us an insight into the park, as of course do StarWars.com, Anthony Breznican over at EW and Coffee With Kenobi who have an in depth interview with Clayton Sandell.
Stay tuned as we bring more links and insight into Galaxy’s Edge on this exciting day as the opening of the park grows nearer.
