After the premiere of The Mandalorian and Grogu, here is another reason for Star Wars fans (and music lovers) to enter the cinemas in Europe. Tickets are already on sale for “John Williams – A Tribute“. Captured live with high-definition cinematography and mixed specifically for massive theater surround-sound systems, “John Williams – A Tribute” features the world-renowned Danish National Symphony Orchestra. Under the baton of conductor Antony Hermus, the orchestra delivers sweeping rendition of Williams’ greatest hits.

Unlike a traditional Hollywood blockbuster, “John Williams – A Tribute” is operating as an independent event cinema release. Rather than launching on a single, synchronized global release date, the film is rolling out on a market-by-market basis as individual theatre chains and cultural cinema networks book the event.

Currently Poland seems to be the largest active theatrical market for the production. Wide-release, ongoing event screenings are being hosted regularly by major national cinema chains, including Multikino and Cinema City Poland.

However, the concert is already available on some streaming platforms in other territories.

Experience the sound of John Williams’ magnificent symphonic landscapes, featuring music from E.T., Star Wars, Schindler’s List, Indiana Jones, and many more.

John Williams is perhaps the greatest film composer in history. With 54 Oscar nominations, 25 Grammy Awards, and hundreds of accolades over six decades, his achievements speak for themselves. Filmmakers, critics, and moviegoers worldwide agree that Williams’ music is an indispensable part of the iconic cinematic worlds of directors like Steven Spielberg, Oliver Stone, and George Lucas.

The DR Symphony Orchestra, accompanied by two prominent soloists—violinist Anna Agafia Egholm and singer Christine Nonbo—perform selections from Williams’ extensive repertoire.

Nenko Genov was born in Plovdiv and has been a Star Wars fan since the early 1990s, discovering the saga through worn-out bootleg VHS tapes and the occasional imported collectible in post-communist Bulgaria. During the early years of Bulgarian Star Wars fandom he was known among local fans as “Young_Jedi” and served as a librarian, hosting a humble collection of English-language Star Wars books for local fans to borrow. (Today his collection includes most of the Star Wars titles ever published and takes up his entire attic!) Nenko holds degrees in English Studies and Film & Television Arts, worked for five years in television production and short filmmaking, and has lived in Poland since 2011, where he currently works as an educator. He also runs a long-standing Bulgarian book blog, launched in 2016, and regularly takes part in workshops, conventions and panel discussions focused on literature, film, pop culture and the creative arts. Nenko is a published writer and the author of the award-winning Bulgarian “Farewell, Diary!” trilogy (“Сбогом, дневнико!”) and the steampunk fantasy novel “The Adventures of Captain Claude and the Sky Scoundrels” (“Приключенията на капитан Клод и Небесните негодяи”). Working across Bulgarian, English and Polish, he has translated and edited a wide range of projects, and since 2022 has translated all the Bulgarian editions of Star Wars comics, manga and picture books, while also consulting on Star Wars novel translations and publishing plans. In collaboration with local publishers and with approvals from Lucasfilm and Marvel, he also writes the forewords for Bulgarian editions of Star Wars comics.
