NORCON, Norfolk’s very own TV, film and comic con, returns to the Norfolk Showground on Saturday 24th and Sunday 25th September 2022.

Tickets are now on sale for the 11th annual event, which has previously been voted among the UK’s top 10 Comic Cons by arts and entertainment guide The List. Throughout the weekend, comic, film and TV fans will be able to enjoy a fantastic mix of exhibits, celebrity appearances, stage talks and demonstrations, photo opportunities and a multitude of traders selling memorabilia and merchandise from every corner of the galaxy.

Among the line-up of celebrity guests for 2022 are Paul McGann – the eighth Doctor WHO, Julian Glover (Star Wars and Game of Thrones) and legendary film sculptor Brian Muir, who sculpted the iconic Darth Vader helmet and Stormtrooper armour in Star Wars. The latest guests who have just been announced are Chris Barrie, best known as Arnold J Rimmer in cult TV series Red Dwarf, and Carolyn Seymour who starred in Star Trek Next Generation and voiced characters in popular video games Mass Effect and Gears of War. More names are still to be confirmed.

Also back by popular demand on the main stage at NORCON this year is manga and anime artist Sonia Leong, who will be hosting drawing workshops, and the Silver Sabres offering Jedi training including lightsabre skills for padawans of all ages. A host of amazing exhibits will be on show too, with photo opportunities with some of TV and film’s famous and best loved vehicles including the Batmobile (1966 Adam West version), the Back to the Future DeLorean, Ghostbusters’ ECTO1 and Jurassic Park jeeps.

Event organiser Mark Dean said, “NORCON looks set to be a fully-immersive geek-fest again with brilliant celebrity guests to meet, TV and film memorabilia, free workshops and out of this world trade stalls – there is so much for everyone to enjoy. We are always amazed by the incredible cosplay we see at the event each year, and we can’t wait to see which characters will walk through the door this year and win prizes in our cosplay competitions. Everyone is welcome at NORCON to have fun and get their geek on, all in the friendliest atmosphere imaginable.”

NORCON also includes Artist Alley where some of the most talented comic book artists will be appearing and sketching live. Artists include Martin Griffiths – a comic book artist for titles such as Transformers and Thundercats, Grant Perkins – artist for the likes of Doctor WHO and Titan Comics, Lee Bradley whose work includes Spider-man and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and local artist Jay Manchand who has worked on the Topps Star Wars cards.
