Oliver Ford Davies, Sio Bibble, in the Star Wars prequels is to act as auctioneer at a fundraising event in aid of the Uplyme Community Sponsorship Scheme.

STAR of the stage and screen, Oliver Ford Davies, will act as auctioneer at a fundraising event in aid of Uplyme Community Sponsorship Scheme.

Mr Ford Davies (pictured left), best known for his role as Sio Bibble in Star Wars Episodes I to III, will boost funds for the scheme, which aims to resettle a Syrian refugee family in the local area, at an Arabian Nights theme dinner and auction on Saturday, October 12.

He will lead the auction of promises, with prizes including tea at the House of Commons with MPs; a stay in a holiday cabin; lessons in piano, guitar, tennis, gig rowing, German, drawing and the Alexander Technique; a dinner party for eight; a fossil walk; hair-styling; a bird-watching walk; a home extension/improvement plan and many more.

The event, to be held at Uplyme Village Hall, will also include an Arabian-theme dinner and will offer a wealth of opportunity to meet, mingle, try something new and learn more about Uplyme Community Sponsorship Scheme.

Tickets costing £20 must be booked in advance and are available from Lyme Regis Tourist Information Centre on 01297 442138 or from Uplyme Stores.
