We know him best as the man who oversaw the construction of the second Death Star in Return of the Jedi, Moff Jerjerrod but on the stage Michael Pennington is one of the most highly regarded of Shakespearean actors and he returns in The Tempest at the Theatre Royal Bath next April.

Booking opens online 4 November, telephone and counter 6 November

One of Britain’s best-known classical actors, Michael Pennington, returns to Bath to play Prospero in Shakespeare’s final play.

The stranger and his daughter live alone on a remote island. Some people say he’s an artist. Others say he practises magic. But today is different. Prospero spots his oldest enemies passing close by in a fragile boat, and he conjures up a storm that will change all their lives forever. Shipwrecked on an enchanted island, surrounded by unfamiliar sights and sounds, Prospero’s lifelong foes are defenceless against the magician’s craft. But now he has the chance to take revenge at last, how will Prospero act?
