Star Wars Celebration Los Angeles 2027: Tickets Loom

As the old saying goes, all is quiet on the western front when it comes to Star Wars Celebration Los Angeles 2027. It’s over a year away and there’s plenty of other things Star Wars related to keep us going. There’s Maul – Shadow Lord, The Mandalorian and Grogu hits cinemas in two months and, no matter where you are in the world, there’s probably a fan organised convention/meet up/Comic Con or collector’s fair happening over the summer months, so why on earth would I bring up Celebration 2027 now?

If the team stick to a similar timeline as they have done for the previous two Celebrations then tickets should be going on sale sooner rather than later, so let’s take a look at some key points you might want to consider as we head into Spring.

Tickets On Sale Date

Celebration Europe 2023 was held in London in the April. The tickets for that event went on sale in June 2022. Celebration Japan 2025 was held in April of that year and tickets for that event went on sale the first of week of May in 2024, so using this timeline it’s a reasonable guess to estimate that tickets might go on sale anytime from May 1st onwards. There are a few things happening that the organisers might want to capitalize on.

Firstly, May 4th. It’s our unofficial official holiday and Lucasfilm/Disney know it. May 22nd also sees the release of the first new theatrical Star Wars film in just under seven years. One can only imagine that if there’s the correct amount of hype for the film then whilst there’s a buzz around Star Wars and promotion on shelves around the world, why not remind folks that not only can they see the new film but also attend Celebration in 2027. Heck, they could run a competition at cinemas to win a trip to LA.

Next…Be Ready and Be Quick

If there’s any first timers reading this who are thinking of going, then tickets for Celebration will run very much the same as concert tickets do. By that, I mean we won’t get two months’ notice to prepare for the on-sale date. Maybe a week at best. One day, it’ll be quiet, the next, it’ll be all hands deck and fairly chaotic. Perhaps, Force willing, a little bit more but not much. People’s attention spans are short these days.

So, on that note, tickets will come at a cost. They always do. There’s two important things to plan for here.

Firstly, one may want to have the funds ready to go to pay for them soonish. There are no payment plan options available. Hopefully, you’ve been saving for a while now but life has a habit of getting in the way so be prepared.

The next thing is time. Tickets will go on sale in accordance with the local time zone, and this one will be PDT in Los Angeles. So, wherever you are in the world, be mindful that you will need to be at your laptop ready for when tickets go on sale. Last time, in 2024, tickets for Japan went on sale just after midnight in our time here in UK so it wasn’t an issue. However, for yourself, it might be that they go live at 1.00pm on a random Wednesday so, if possible, maybe save some time that you book off.

That’s also a keynote. Tickets very rarely go on sale over the weekend. Always a weekday.

Key Dates

Star Wars Celebration 2027 takes place from 1st – 4th April. The past two Celebrations in London and Japan took place over the Easter Weekend. This made, from what I heard from a lot of people, planning and travelling a lot easier. Here in the UK that meant that it was the school holidays, so folks could work around the two weeks off.

2027 does not keep with that tradition. Make a note, Easter, regardless of if you observe it, falls on Sunday March 28th so Celebration is taking place the weekend AFTER.

Finally…Hotels and Flights

It’s also worth noting that hotels and flights, that once seemed so far away to worry about, will also be going live very soon for the dates that people would need for 2027, so again, plan accordingly and budget wisely.

Once again, all of this is mere speculation. For all I know, the tickets could go on sale Christmas Eve and they’d have thrown out the whole virtual queuing system and there’s nothing to worry about and all will be fine.

Could be…but somehow I doubt it.
