With many schools now closed for the summer, here at Fantha Tracks we thought it would be great to share Star Wars locations from across the world that we have visited and that you could take your kids to if you were in the area. Let’s see where everyone recommends.

Rogue One location
As much as I would like to tell you I have been to the Maldives my location is less exotic but still very obvious that Rogue One was filmed there! I’m talking about the tube station Canary Wharf on the Jubilee line in London! I have been there a couple of times, one of the funniest times was during Star Wars Celebration Europe in 2016 when a crowd of us including fellow a Fantha Tracker reenacted the scene from the trailer with Jyn Erso running!
If you happen to be travelling on the tube, it is worth a stop and a photo!

The Empire Strikes Back location
With Star Wars now being filmed all around the world, from Northern Europe to Australia, Guatemala to Greenham Common, there are any number of locations that any of us could chose, but mine is not only from one of the most visually stunning locations used in the saga but also from my favourite film, The Empire Strikes Back. Norway, and the serene and evocative locations surrounding Finse, formed the backdrop to the Hoth scenes of Empire and back in February when Matt Booker, Richard Hutchinson, James Floyd and Brian Cameron visited not only did we have an amazing time – full of info about the making of Empire and the crew that worked on the film – but the location simply reeked of Star Wars. The view from the window every day, the fact that so much of the film was shot mere feet away from the walls of the hotel, the rooms where the cast and crew stayed. It was a truly magical experience that I will certainly undertake again and one I can’t recommend enough.

The Force Awakens location
So many places to choose but for somewhere that is pretty central and also has a great deal to offer to non-Star Wars fans (there are some) then Puzzlewood has to get my vote. Many scenes from The Force Awakens were shot in Puzzlewood as were Dr Who, Merlin and many more TV shows. They also lay claim to be an inspiration for J.R.R Tolkien’s Middle-Earth and you can see why!
Included in a visit to Puzzlewood, located in the Forest of Dean, there are Maze Adventures, lots of animals to pet and see, outdoor play areas and lots of things to see and do nearby such as cave exploring.

Attack of the Clones location
Back in 2006 I had a friend whose mother was working in Parma, Italy. Me and my friend decided to go and visit her, and since we flew into Milano we convinced the mother that a stay at Lago di Como would be a great idea. The surroundings of Lago di Como are easily recognisable as the Naboo countryside, and we stayed at an hotel that was just a short walk from Villa Balbaniello, the romantic Naboo retreat from Attack of the Clones. The weather was grey and rainy, we even joked that the water pools were in the same position as when they were filming Attack of the Clones. It is a beautiful place and well worth a visit, I think even the mother who didn’t like Star Wars could agree on that.

Rogue One location
Ahh yes. Well, apart from a friend bringing me back a jar of sand from the Lars Homestead some years ago, unfortunately my location visit is the same as young Clair’s. I couldn’t help grabbing a quick photo at the tube station Canary Wharf on the Jubilee line, London, during Celebration Europe in 2016. I didn’t even know Clair back then, but it is comforting to know that we were both daft enough to have a photo taken at an underground station just because of a shared love of all things Star Wars.
If you have been to a Star Wars location why not comment and share your destination? We would love to hear the places fellow fans have been
