Disney are flexing their muscles as The Last Jedi waits in the wings by laying down tough rules for cinema’s showing the movie.

The Wall Street Journal looked into those conditions, all designed to give the fans the best experience and the company more funds to keep the saga running on for at least the next decade..

The box-office domination of the “Star Wars” franchise has given Walt Disney Co. unprecedented power over the nation’s movie theaters.

Before exhibitors can begin screening “Star Wars: The Last Jedi” this December, they must first commit to a set of top-secret terms that numerous theater owners say are the most onerous they have ever seen. Disney will receive about 65% of ticket revenue from the film, a new high for a Hollywood studio. Disney is also requiring theaters to show the movie in their largest auditorium…

Tough conditions, but one’s that guarantee the revenue gets back home to San Francisco and that gives fans the opportunity to soak in the eye candy and drama of the 8th saga episode on the best screens possible.
