After the announcement of the principal cast of Star Wars: Starfighter, rumours swirl that Claudio Miranda, Oscar nominated for The Curious Case of Benjamin Button and recently hitting the stratosphere with Top Gun: Maverick and F1, has joined the project as Director of Photography for director Shawn Levy and producer Ryan Gosling. Filming is now underway, running until mid December with the films release set for 28th May 2027.
Miranda, who also earned an Oscar nomination for “The Curious Case of Benjamin Button,” has been one of Hollywood’s go-to DPs for large-scale, visually ambitious projects. His career has definitely been on the up.
His recent credits include “Top Gun: Maverick” and “F1,” both for director Joseph Kosinski, which suggests Levy is chasing a similar level of slick, high-octane visual spectacle for ‘Starfighter,’ which is set to open in theaters on May 28, 2027.
