Composer John Powell to Receive ASCAP’s 2018 Henry Mancini Award

John Powell, the man behind the score of May 25th’s Solo: A Star Wars Story, is to receive the Henry Mancini Award on 23rd May, which looks set to be a very good week for the British composer.

The award is the highest honor the performing rights organization bestows on a composer.

Oscar-nominated composer John Powell will receive the Henry Mancini Award at the ASCAP Screen Music Awards on May 23 at the Beverly Hilton in Beverly Hills, California.

The award, the highest honor the performing rights organization bestows on a composer, has previously been given to such esteemed composers as Hans Zimmer, John Debney, Howard Shore, Randy Newman, Alan Silvestri, James Newton Howard and Quincy Jones.
