After the world understood that the Kenobi series on Disney Plus would be a limited series, one-shot deal Ewan McGregor has thrown that up into the air somewhat. Speaking with Entertainment Tonight about the return of his road trip show with Charley Boorman, The Long Way Up he briefly discussed Kenobi and appeared to leave the door open for further episodes.

McGregor, of course, played Jedi master Obi-Wan Kenobi in the prequel trilogy of George Lucas’ space epic, and will soon be reprising the role in an Obi-Wan-centered series for Disney+.

“Spring next year we start,” he revealed of production plans. “I’m really excited about it. It’s gonna be great, I think.”

And while fans are eagerly awaiting the return of another Star Wars series, The Mandalorian, McGregor noted there aren’t any plans, yet, for a second season of Obi-Wan.

“As I understand, it’s a standalone season,” he said. “We’ll see. Who knows?”

Who knows indeed, but if Kenobi rocks our galaxy like we hope it will, a second series – maybe not right away, perhaps somewhere down the line – would be more than welcome. We discussed this topic on Making Tracks recently, which you can listen to here.
