Established Toronto musician Din, is following the release of the debut album from his new project F-105 with a few dates around the world. Having started in his native Canada, he will be playing shows in Paris, London, Liverpool, Dublin and Stourbridge in early September – the latter show may also feature yours truly helping out on percussion!!!. The album’s lead single ‘Rebel Girl/Desert Planet’ received wide coverage and critical acclaim in with the group’s growing global Star Wars / geekdom fanbase.

The 8 song album was a 2 year recording journey for the band. It continues to combine mythic archetypes and ‘Hero’s journey’ themes, in songs like ‘Rebel Girl’ and ‘Desert Planet’ along with Canadian storytelling on songs like ‘No Man’s Land and ‘Viljo & Elsa’.

The latter song and others, like ‘October 1st’ and ‘Mileage’, push their alternative rock sound into new skies with the use of the Finnish stringed Kantele instrument.

Din is also the inaugural guest on the new series on ‘The Fine Piece’ podcast where he talks about his life in music and beyond along with his fandom. Head over to Soundcloud to hear more.

Here’s what others are already saying about F-105:

“F105 is exactly what you’d expect from a band who’s stolen their name from the most mysterious elements of Canadian aerospace myth and legend [The CF-105 Avro Arrow]. Just like its namesake, F105 brings the listener on a journey that is sleek in design, cutting the edge of all sonic barriers before them and landing the listener in the heart of every matter they’ve put to tape, track after track. One part geek-dom, one part pop rock and one part solid musicianship, equate to a band and album that push the listener into the stratosphere of the new can-pop-rock landscape. Be one of the first to jump aboard!”
